Finger Coils With CURLS Blueberry Bliss Collection

So I just dropped a new video! It’s featuring the CURLS ‘Blueberry Bliss Curl Collection’ which is all over my timeline at the moment so I have wanted to try the whole collection for ages.

The edge control is very popular and always a staple for others, I have tried in the past and was impressed!

Thanks to there being a twist cream in the collection of products I decided to create a protective style to test out the hold of the products. Finger coils is a style I haven’t created in a few years and were perfect for transitioning as you can create a uniform curl pattern all over the hair.

Blueberries are rich in Vitamin C & B which both increase hair growth and prevent breakage.

Check out the tutorial below!

For a run-down of each product in the line please carry on reading below! (Those who carry on reading are in for a treat “muhahaha”)

Blueberry Bliss Reparative Hair Wash

I absolutely am in love with the packaging and smell from all of the products in the line and this hair wash is actually blue which threw me off but it does contain blueberry extract along with Aloe vera juice (Always a plus). I myself wouldn’t even call this a hair wash as it felt more like a conditioner in my palms but did lather once on wet hair which is perfect for those who like to feel that the product is working (sometimes with co-washes you feel blind as to whether your scalp is clean). Even with the lather this hair wash was still really moisturising which is highly appreciated! First impressions all good and will be added to my curly hair wash collection.

Blueberry Bliss Reparative Hair Mask

This product comes in a good sized tub perfect for curlies with longer thicker hair! The product itself is really thick (hence it being a hair mask) which made it heavy on my hair and it felt as if it was sitting on top of the hair but once it has been left on for over 10-20 minutes you will notice it penetrates the hair. I recommend using a bit of heat with the mask and leaving on for 30-40 minutes for best results. You will notice your hair is a lot softer, stretched and easier to detangle. The mask is full of natural and organic ingredients along with ingredients made to repair and encourage hair growth.

Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave In Conditioner

I noticed that this leave in was really soft, not so watery in texture more like a cream thanks to the mango butter included! It worked through my curls well and I could detangle with it. The leave in left my curls moisturised but wasn’t enough to use along styling wise I would simply use this product alone as a moisturiser as my hair needs extra layers to style (unfortunately for my pockets.). Oh and how could I forget! The smell is amazing sooooo sweet great for if you want to leave a good impression ;)

Blueberry Bliss Twist N Shout Cream

The magic product for producing these epic finger coils and I am sure it will become a twist-out/braid out staple too! Thanks to its great ingredients and hold without flakeage or noticeable product build up.

Blueberry Bliss CURL Control Paste

I really like this control paste as it softens once rubbed into your fingertips and hair instead of being very stiff and heavy. It also looks amazing and smells sweet so is a cute little tub to bring around in your handbag for touch ups.

Blueberry Bliss Hair Growth Oil

This oil is everything!! Smells AMAZING and a little goes a long way, I cannot wait to try this as a treatment for my scalp and ends. Again another cute addition for your handbag as it comes in a smaller bottle.

Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly
I am yet to try the CURL control jelly but stay tuned as I will share my thoughts on this product once trialled.

How To Stay Productive As A Blogger!

2017 I have made a promise to myself that I would make blogging a priority and become full time with it! So I have been on the GRIND! As you may have seen I have tried to be more consistent with my Instagram page (posting at-least 3 times a day), writing a book which is soon to be launched, running my small business OSoCurly , planning events, creating content for brands and more!
You may not know but I work full time at the moment and have done for the past year, so you can imagine how hard it is to juggle running a blog, small business, writing a book, emails, gym, driving lessons AND keep my sanity, rest and try to have some type of social life/time with friends and family..

I thought I would put together some tips on how I have managed to become much more productive this year whilst juggling to excel in all other areas of my life. It takes a lot of getting used to and sacrifice but you will reap the benefits instantly!

Along with reaching goals and planning your success you can sometimes lose sight of your mental health and doing things for yourself. I recieved an amazing Christmas present last year which is the ‘Happiness Planner’ an amazing daily journal that makes you write down every day what you are thankful for, what made you happy that day, meals, exercises.. Basically reinforcing you to take care of you! I will admit it is hard to keep up with the daily writing but is so worth it.

The journal comes in this cute box with a gold pen (Insta worthy) and lots of worksheets for you to fill out with your goals and dreams for the year ahead along with reflecting on last year. If you struggle with taking out time for yourself this will be perfect for you and also forces you to have some down time before bed.
(You can also choose different sizes & colours)
If the journal isn’t for you they also have Free app!

I read about the 'power hour' in a book which gives you a guideline on how to write a book! It is great help for those who lose focus because of work and other daily activities. You basically take an hour out of your day and get to WORK!

By work I mean writing for a blog, article, book any kind of creative writing you are struggling with. This 1 hour slot is something easy to commit too and is a way to ensure you are working towards your goal daily. Mine is usually from 10-11am or 11am-12pm (They say that mornings are the best time to get writing done.

Now as a blogger/social media influencer/business owner this tip is essential (also the free option lol). I created a daily planner on excel for my social media/blog tasks. I draw it up monthly so I can add in any deadlines I have coming up (I code deadlines in red) once the tasks are done I change the red to yellow which lets me know I can relax because that task is out the way!

It’s really good to have on your laptop for when you are feeling a bit overwhelmed, I literally have to have lists for EVERYTHING otherwise I feel anxious about everything I have to work on.

I have been working constantly since the age of 17 but have always done jobs in the retail field which is PAINFUL! You are usually on your feet for the whole shift constantly dealing with complaints, tidying up the shop floor, working on the till I could go on and on! I am happy that at the age of 22 I managed to let go of the retail world and moved on to admin work. I now currently work full time and although it isn’t what I want to do forever it is a good fit for my current lifestyle.

I don’t have stress that I carry home after work, each day is pretty much the same tasks so I can work on other things alongside my job which is perfect for a blogger/business owner.

As I said before, working full time makes it difficult for you to be on call 24/7. What I do in the mornings is check my social media, reply to comments and send any important emails I need to reply to that day to my work email address. I then draft out my answers at work and send them back to my personal email address to then send to the appropriate person. This changed the game for me as it allows me to juggle it all! I am constantly sending emails to myself all day long (lol)

I have always been the kind of person to keep things to myself, things I am working on, things I have achieved anything! This year I am beginning to let go of this fear as I feel others won’t care or that there is nothing someone can do for me that I can’t do for myself.

Get a group of trustworthy friends or family, let them know what you are working on be confident and positive. Make them your accountability partners which means that you tell them your deadlines or goals and ask them to make sure you are keeping on track. For example I told 2 close ones about my book deadline and asked them to ask me weekly if I have finished or worked on it, it can be annoying at first but sometimes you need that push!

These are the main ways I have managed to keep it all together for the past few months and I am drained but I can see my goals clearly and am reaping the benefits by gaining more followers, more brand deals and more of a chance to follow my passion which hand in hand means spending more time travelling and with friends & family.

All of the tips above have helped me so much the past few months in progressing towards my goals! If you have any other tips please comment below and help a sister out!

Women Be Killin It! InternationalWomensDay

I’ve had this topic in my head for a few weeks now and today is the perfect day to release my
thoughts...

As an aspiring full-time business owner/blogger/entrepreneur I naturally am surrounded by women on similar journeys to mine within the blogging/entertainment and natural hair communities.

Thanks to social media I get to connect with them from all over the world and watch everyone’s progress from growing a following, securing brand deals, events and more! To see women who look like you, do the same things as you and even live in the same city as you, killing it is so inspiring, how can you lose!

In the natural hair community, I would say it is 99% made up of women and mainly women of colour who are owning hair product brands, blogging about hair and modelling it. Thanks to the internet we have all been able to create huge followings and revenue from simply having a passion for hair and sharing that passion with others through creative content. Full time work has been created from this industry and it has allowed so many to have financial freedom in doing what they love.

This is my dream and I have been so overwhelmed lately with the support from close women who want to work together towards this same goal.

This is something hard to find in this day and age so when you do find it hold on to it! My definition of sisterhood is having someone there who supports everything you do and shares her gems with you to help you progress along with working together to do the same.

After years of reading up on positivity and success I have learnt that their is enough to go around! We all can make it so their is no need to feel threatened, jealous or sour over another women’s success, I wish we all could realise this!

Meet up with your sisterhood, make a Whatsapp group, and support your friends as if their brand was yours! I recently linked up with my curlfriend @HairIsSimba who has helped me every step of the way of this journey and together we created so much content in 2 days!

Working together will only = success, I’ve seen it happen in the US blogger sphere but not so much in the UK, hopefully we can change that!

I understand the feeling of jealousy, as when I didn’t know what I wanted to do in life I would sit and scroll through watching other women living their dreams and killing it, it would make me feel like I was missing out and I started to wish my life away until one day I realised only I can make it happen! I began to not watch others and instead use it as inspiration to start my own business.

Once you get rid of the negative energy you will begin to really live and as women we are so strong and can conquer ANYTHING. Special shouts to all of the women who are bringing up children and still have the time to grind and work towards their passions!

All in all I just want to celebrate women today (who needs men right) the tradition has changed and we can work and provide for ourselves! *Plays Destinys Child*

Mielle Organics Deep Conditioner Review

Mielle Organics 'Babassu Oil & Mint Deep Conditioner'

Overrated?

For years I have seen Mielle Organics pop up on my Instagram feed and it has since been a brand that I have wanted to try but wasn’t easily accessible here in the UK. Years later you can now purchase it from some UK online outlets, I bought mine from BeautyByZara

Now you all know I love a good deep conditioner, that’s my THING! And the favourite part of my natural hair journey. I always pair my deep conditioner with heat to penetrate the hair shaft and let in as much moisture as possible.

First thoughts after washing my hair was that the product was SO SMALL! I was really upset at the size because I like to apply a generous amount of product to my hair as it’s very thick and needs as much moisture as possible!

I then went ahead and applied to product to wet washed hair. The consistency shocked me as it was really thin (Almost thiner than the SheaMoisture JBCO leave-in) and had great slip unlike a thicker hair masque. The smell is very strong and minty but I enjoyed it, the mint actually was a great treatment for my scalp as I could feel the tingling which is great for stimulating and promoting hair growth.

I love that this product and brand promote healthy natural ingredients and this deep conditioner is no exception with it's mix of oils and mints (mint and peppermint) your hair will feel good without a doubt.

The deep conditioner felt so nice on my curls and they immediately became much softer and soaked up the moisture. After 40 minutes under my heat cap these were my results.

You know a deep conditioner is good when you see hardly any residue on the hair as it has fully soaked in, also my curls became defined and so soft! I almost wished it was a leave-in!
It is now definitely one of the best deep conditioners I have tried so far and I now know what the hype was about.

I hope they make a bigger size available as it isn’t great value for money and I would use this for restoring moisture not so much for reconstructing and strengthening the hair.

All in all really great deep conditioner and I have added it to my favouirites!
